The Adavi Alert Foundation proudly presents "Snakes of Mysore: Educate, Enlighten & Empower," a groundbreaking book dedicated to spreading essential knowledge about snakes and addressing the snake bite crisis. This initiative is in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), which recognized snake bites as a neglected tropical disease in 2017.
This book honors the legendary Snake Man of Mysore, Mr. Balasubramanya, also known as Snake Shyam. For over 43 years, Snake Shyam has provided invaluable service to the people of Mysore, gaining worldwide recognition for his contributions to snake conservation.
"Snakes of Mysore" includes nine comprehensive chapters that delve into the fascinating world of snakes. It features detailed descriptions of venomous, semi-venomous, and non-venomous snake species found in Mysore, alongside the four commonly distributed venomous snakes in India.
