Bridging Gaps: Addressing Human-Wildlife Conflicts at BMS College of Law
Bridging Gaps
Adavi Alert Foundation is grateful to Harsha Vashista and his father for facilitating our introduction to BMS College of Law. This opportunity allowed us to present our work, focusing on man-animal conflicts, with a special emphasis on human-elephant conflicts and their impacts on both wildlife and communities. It was a significant moment, as we shared stories of these challenges and discussed the solutions being implemented on the ground.
We extend our thanks to the administration of BMS College of Law for welcoming us and providing a platform to engage with students. Our session covered not only the conflicts but also the policies and scientific approaches undertaken by the government and the Forest Department to address these issues and protect Karnataka's forests. Engaging with the next generation on such critical topics strengthens the bridge between society and wildlife conservation.
