Overview: On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, Adavi Alert Foundation conducted a conservation awareness programme at Sancta Matha College of Nursing, Gundlupet. Given the college's proximity to the Bandipur Tiger Reserve and the Nilgiri Biosphere landscape, the session focused on the importance of biodiversity conservation, current environmental challenges, human-wildlife coexistence, and snakebite awareness.

Session Highlights:

• Awareness on the ecological significance of biodiversity and the need for its conservation
• Discussion on current threats to ecosystems, including habitat degradation and human-wildlife conflict
• Elephant conservation awareness, highlighting the challenges faced by both wildlife and local communities
• Session on snake ecology, snakebite prevention, and scientifically accurate first-aid practices
• Addressing myths and misconceptions surrounding snakes and promoting responsible coexistence
• Interactive discussions on the role of youth in environmental stewardship and conservation action
• Donation of Snakes of Mysore books to the college library as part of the Sarpamithra State Campaign
• Distribution of conservation and snakebite awareness posters for display within the institution
