The Institutional Social Responsibility Cell (ISRC) of Mount Carmel College, Autonomous, Bangalore, in association with Department of Botany, Department of Electronics, Centre for International Programs and Partnerships (CIPP) – PGDBA/PGDIB /PGDMA, in collaboration with ADAVI ALERT FOUNDATION organized the “CALL FOR FOREST CONSERVATION” event on 27th January 2023.

Our key-note speaker of the event, Mr. Pavan Joshi, Director of Adavi Alert Foundation helped us to understand the importance of conservation of forests, wildlife, and sustainable development.

The experiences he shared with regard to wildlife protection which is only possible because of the people working towards saving them, enabled us to learn different perspectives of the situations through the speaker’s lens. The event made us wonder about the quality of life the front-line workers live, the challenges they face on a day-to-day basis and how they struggle to get the basic needs for living and their hard work in safeguarding the general public. The service rendered by the front-line workers is invaluable and inspiring.

The support given to the front-line workers by Adavi Foundation by providing them with caps, torch, boots and other necessities depicts genuine concern and desire to safeguard the real treasure.

Mr. Pavan Joshi, shared his best wildlife and conservation photographs. Each photograph unravelled a new story and created different emotions in the participants leaving the individual startled and amazed.

A photography competition was conducted with the theme “Nature/Wildlife” and the winners of the of the competition were awarded. The participants of the event also received participation certificates which will further motivate us to be aware and updated with wildlife and be mindful of our actions.

Conveying heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Pavan Joshi for expressing the reality of wildlife and conservation. The event encouraged the participants to be more mindful of one’s day-to-day actions that can help in living sustainable life to help protect wildlife &  conserve forests.
