The Majestic Monarch Bogeshwara

The Majestic Monarch Bhogeshwara, reportedly the elephant with the longest tusks in Asia, passed away from natural causes at the age of 60. The wild elephant, also affectionately known as ‘Mr. Kabini,’ was discovered deceased in the Gundre range of Karnataka’s Bandipur Tiger Reserve. According to forest department officials, Bhogeshwara’s tusks measured 2.54 meters and 2.34 meters in length. Renowned for its gentle temperament, the elephant had been a frequent visitor to the Kabini backwaters for the past three decades.

I even went on tears after watching the photos shared by our frontline workers, and the demise took place on the other side of Nagarahole Tiger Reserve, which is in Bandipur.
